I know this used to work at some point, but I can't quite figure out how to configure it so everything plays nicely. The interesting thing is, I noticed if I change the sample rate of my aggregate device to have everything be 48kHz instead of 44.1kHz, the audio streams over BlackHole without dropouts, BUT this then causes lots of clicks and pops in some of my inputs in the 'instruments' project. When I use the 'instruments' project on it's own everything sounds fine, and when I use the 'backing tracks' project on it's own, everything sounds fine. This only happens when I'm routing audio from the backing tracks project via BlackHole. The meters indicate audio is still passing through all the busses, but every couple seconds, in my headphones there is about 500ms of silence. This used to work perfectly on my previous 2017 MacBook Pro, but now I've switched to a 2018 Mac Mini (not sure if this has anything to do with the problem, but mentioning it anyway), and I'm noticing that there are frequent audio dropouts in the backing tracks every couple seconds. My main interface is an aggregate of a firewire interface, a usb interface, and BlackHole. I use BlackHole to route audio from one project to the other. The other project contains all my backing tracks. One project has all the inputs for all my physical and MIDI instruments, which includes headphone routing to all the musicians. I have two projects that I use in tandem frequently. We'd love to hear what you have produced with Reaper, but please post it in the weekly sticky. Customizing Channels, Latency, and Sample Ratesģ.We are read-only in protest of Reddit Inc disregarding its users and moderators.Different versions available for specific needs.Stable working with no crashes (Also on Apple Silicon). It is Also available for Windows but here we only introduce the MacOS version.Soundflower is a great utility tool for routing audio around a computer’s OS and recording audio between apps and is often favoured by OBS users. Soundflower is not yet compatible with newer Mac Versions, but Blackhole might be the ideal solution for virtual audio routing. BlackHole is also available using brew cask install blackhole OS Catalina users can now use BlackHole for free custom audio routing. I highly recommend that you update to the latest version since I've fixed some major bugs. Customizable to 256+ channels if you think your computer can handle it. BlackHole is a modern macOS virtual audio driver that allows applications to pass audio to other applications with zero additional latency.Supports 2, 16, and 64audio channels. As a newly migrated user from Windows to Mac I found Blackhole, pretty reliable, easy to use, and easy to map between platforms, So I decided to share the features and make an installation and user guide! Enjoy! BlackHole is a modern MacOS virtual audio driver that allows applications to pass audio to other applications with zero additional latency.
